St Kits can be seen from the Diamond building. The views from all the buildings on the Hamilton estate are breathing taking.

Nevis is attracting Americans and Europeans looking to retire on an island in the sun, establishing a second home, or just investing in real estate and enjoying the many advantages offered by this international financial jurisdiction. The history, culture, and genuine friendliness of Nevisians are among the many attractions for real estate companies.

The Carino Hamilton Development project, founded by Managing Director, Norwegian Joern Eivik, was built on the ruins of the Hamilton sugar plantation of the 1800s. With 21 large villas, each boasting their own private pool, condominiums with large community pools, unique restaurants, and a Scandinavian spa center, these buildings are strategically located to capture the most magnificent views on the island of Nevis.

Stein Hansen, once an educator at Rygjaboe College, Norway, is now the coordinator for Carino international projects. Hansen said that the Nevis project is involved in more than just real estate development. “We are involved in community development through collaboration of the people of Nevis with the people of Norway. Through joint projects, youths of Nevis are receiving tertiary education in Norway, and Norwegian students are in Nevis experiencing the culture and lifestyles of Nevisians,” he said. Stein added that Norwegian students are also being trained by restaurants and hotels in Nevis.

Hansen explained that Carino Hamilton is also developing a fish farm and a processing plant in collaboration with the Nevis Island Government. “Together we are hoping to develop an export commodity of processed fish. For us to achieve this goal, we are training Nevisians in Norway in different aspects of the fishing industry so that they will be skilled to manage and operate the fish farm and processing plant,” he said.

Hansen proudly described the Scandinavian luxury spa center that is being built in collaboration with international spa companies. This center, he said, would be unique to the Eastern Caribbean. “This spa center is the heart of the Carino Hamilton activity in Nevis. It was the brain child of Norwegian Olympic biathlete, five-time gold medalist and nine-time biathlete world championship gold medalist, Ole Einar Bjoerndalen,” Hansen explained. The spa center was designed to incorporate the beaches and the Caribbean Sea, mountain views, and abundance of green foliage on the slopes of the mountain of Nevis.

Hansen added that the spa center will bring specialists in athletic surgery to Nevis, upgrading the Nevis hospital. “We anticipate that together with the Nevis Island administration, the Norwegian Government, and the Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, the island can offer one of the best medical care. This will also benefit Olympic champions who wish to use our spa center.” Hansen declared that the Carino Hamilton development project in Nevis is all about giving back to society in a meaningful way. “The people of Nevis and the people of Norway are forming meaningful ties for the development of Nevis.”
